This circuit separates the inputted image signal by a color difference signal and a brightness signal, and compresses, stores, and restores the separated image signal, thus minimizing a memory capacity. It consists of a filter circuit, which prevents overlapping of the brightness signal (Y) and the color difference signals (R-Y,B-Y); a data compressing means (2), which compresses the filtered signal; a storing means (3), which stores the data for delaying 1 frame; and a data restoring means (4).
