The arrangement includes a transmitter/receiver apparatus (LP1, LP2) which is connected with a central exchange apparatus and, over a line (B1, B2), is connected to second transmitter/receiver apparatuses (IE1.1 ... IE1.n, IE2.1 ... IE2.M). The second transmitter/receiver apparatuses and the mobile end devices (PP) have interfaces (IF1,IF1') for infra-red light communication. The first transmitter/receiver apparatus and the mobile end devices have known cordless telephone standard (DECT) procedure (NWK,DLC,MAC) realising components. ADVANTAGE - Permits mobile end device movements as with previously known mobile radio systems on basis of electromagnetic waves.
