<p>Transdermal drug delivery systems are provided in which a release rate-controlling means limits the flux of drug out of the device but not the flux of skin permeation enhancer. The devices contain an enhancer composition of a lower aliphatic ester of a lower aliphatic carboxylic acid, a lower alkanol, and, optionally, additional permeation enhancing components. Methods for using the transdermal systems for administering pharmacologically active agents are provided as well.</p> |
