[Also in Division G4] An electro-magnetic indicator comprises a rotatable indicator member which at a first level of energization of the indicator is released by a pawl and spring-urged to a second position and at a higher level of energization is restored to the first position. When the coil 2 is energized a spring pawl 5 is drawn towards the coil, allowing indicator 9 to rotate about pivot 7 to the dotted position. The indicator has an indicating portion 9 and also a U-shaped portion having arms which straddle the coil to form part of the magnetic circuit. If the energization is increased the magnetic attraction is sufficient to return the arms beyond the original position so that when energization is removed the pawl arrests the indicator member at the original position.
