NEW ETHER COMPOUND AND HEAT-RESISTANT RECORDING MATERIAL CONTAINING THE SAME

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the novel ether compound useful as a photosensitizer for heat-resistant recording materials rapidly coloring at low temperatures and good in the coloring sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:An ether compound of formula I (X is 1-6C linear or branched alkylene; R is lover alkyl) (especially preferably an ether compound of formula II), e.g. 2,2-bis[4'-methylphenyl)oxyphenyl]propane. The compound of formula I is obtained e.g. by reacting a diphenol compound with a lower alkyl-substituted phenyl halide in the presence of a base and a copper catalyst.
