The invention concerns a device for positioning a subject in relation to a camera. The device can, for example, be used in videotelephony to direct persons in relation to the camera. The device is divided into a number of fields which indicate how the subject is to be moved in order to be correctly positioned in relation to the camera. Each field is divided into a number of cells, the depth of which in relation to the cross-section area is adapted so that instructions appear.
