PURPOSE:To obtain an instrument for measuring the flatness of sealed surfaces of flange sections, etc., which can measure the flatness of a sealed surface through remote control by ultrasonic flaw detection. CONSTITUTION:This instrument is provided with a fixed member 4 which is fixed to a sealing surface 1 to be measured and a rotary member 3 which is rotatably supported by the member 4 and mounted with an ultrasonic probe 2 at the position facing the surface 1. In addition, the instrument is also provided with an operating section which supplies a rotationally driving force to the member 3 and ultrasonic flow detector 10 which inputs the detected value of the probe 2 and finds the flatness of the surface 1.
