GATHERING REMOVING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VERTICAL FILLING AND PACKAGING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of gathering on a cylindrical film at the time of end sealing. CONSTITUTION:A pair of holding means 36 is provided above a pair of end sealers 22 and 24 in such a manner as to permit their movement toward and away from each other with a feed passage of cylindrical film 10 therebetween. Each of supporting plates 44 for the holding means 36 has its own flexible plate 46 formed thereon. Each of the flexible plates 46 is provided at the central part of its front edge in the longitudinal direction with a separate holding piece 46b being about 1/3 as wide as the bag of the cylindrical film 10. By moving the holding means 36 toward each other, a pair of the holding pieces 46b press together the central parts of the cylindrical film 10 into a flat form in the widthwise direction across about 1/3 the width of the bag.
