PURPOSE:To obtain a package having reduced variation in the amount of contents while continuously charging article thereinto. CONSTITUTION:Two rotating plates (not illustrated) adapted to be moved close toward each other by a pusher (not illustrated) are provided below feed rollers 6 for lowering packaging member formed into a cylindrical shape. Each of the rotating plates is provided with a first drawing roller 7 and a second drawing roller 8 arranged oppositely in a freely rotating manner. By rotating each rotating plate, the drawing rollers 7 and 8 are moved in opposite directions along their respective paths B and C. An article 40 is fed through a charging pipe 1 into the packaging member 41 and the article therein is pressed between the rollers 7 and 8, whereby the article is reduced to a specified width equivalent to a distance between the drawing rollers 7 and 8. The first drawing roller 7 is then lowered and made to rotate at a lower drawing point Q to form the article 40 into a sheet-like part 41b, which is then heat-sealed by a lateral sealing machine 10 to complete the formation of the package.
