<p>NEW Insecticidal composition contg. (a) dimethoxy (methylthio methoxy phenoxy)phosphine oxide (II); (b) a sterilising agent, pref. "Meteba" (III); and opt. (c) a penetrating agent, pref. Me2SO; and/or (d) an activity-extending additive, pref. a chlorinated terphenyl (IV); and/or (e) solvents, emulsifiers, and other additives. (I) are stomach and contact poisons, fumigants and sterilising agents of low mammalian toxicity. Typical composition contains (II) 50%, (III) 0.5%, Me2SO 15%, (IV) 10%, Solvent naphtha, 20%. This was sprayed as a 1:1000 diln. at 151/are on rice infested with Chilo suppressalis and Nephotettix cincticeps giving satisfactory control of both.</p> |
