PURPOSE:To provide a new compound having immunosuppressive activity, antineoplastic cell-proliferative activity and antimycotic activity. CONSTITUTION:The immunosuppressive substance, (5R*,6R*)-5-ethyl-5,6- dihydro-6-[(E)-(2R*,3S*,4R*,5S*)-2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-7-no nenyl]-2H- pyran-2-one of the formula. This compound can be separated and taken from a culture solution of PA-48153(FERM BP-3754)strain belonging to Streptomyces prunicolor by a conventional means. This compound, because of having the above- -mentioned biological activity, is useful for curing or preventing rejections to organ or tissue implantation, implant vs. host reactions caused by bone marrow implantation, various autoimmune diseases, neoplastic diseases such as hematic tumors or solid cancers, and mycotic infectious diseases. |
