A fabric protectant comprises a cellulosic material having a bulk density of 0.2 to 0.7 g/cm<3> and a thickness of 0.1 to 4 mm and a composition containing as an active ingredient 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl (+)-1R,trans-2,2-dimethul-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)cyclopropanecarboxylate. The cellulosic material has the composition supported thereon, or it is impregnated with the composition. The protectant may maintain a stable attack-preventing effect over a long period of time. The protectant may be used for controlling pest insects and for protecting fabrics by applying the protectant to pest insects or fabric or to an environment in which fabric is stored. |
