PURPOSE:To produce an optical recording medium satisfying ISO standards by successively laminating an optical recording layer containing a specific org. dye and a protective layer having the real part and imaginary part of an optical constant within a specific wavelength range on a light pervious substrate. CONSTITUTION:One or more kind of an org. dye selected from a phthalocyanine dye and a naphthalocyanine dye and, if necessary, other components are dissolved or dispersed in an org. solvent to prepare a coating solution for an optical recording layer. The coating solution is applied to a light pervious substrate composed of glass, an acrylic resin or a polyester resin and dried to form the optical recording layer. Next, a protective layer composed of Si or SiO2 and characterized by that the real part (n) of an optical constant within the wavelength range of 760-850nm is 1.9-2.1 and the imaginary part thereof is 0.3 or less is laminated on the optical recording layer by a sputtering method to produce an optical recording medium. This optical recording medium satisfies both of light reflectivity necessary for a write-once optical recording medium and ISO standards related to the intensity of a reproduction signal. |
