<p>A process is described for biological purification of waste water in a closed reactor by means of loop-type operation. According to the invention, a mixture of waste water, biomass and, possibly, returned sludge is fed to the lower region of the flow guide tube of the reactor after previous degassing together with the oxygen-containing gas, a part stream of the waste water to be treated is fed to the rising waste water stream in the annular space and a part of the treated mixture is continuously transferred exclusively by means an overflow into a mixing and degassing vessel, into which the polluted water to be treated is also introduced and from which the mixture is removed. A further object of the invention is a vertically standing loop-type reactor (1) for carrying out the process. The invention proposes that the two-fluid nozzle (6) is disposed in the lower section of the flow guide tube (4), that a branch pipe (9) departs from the pipe (8) via which the waste water is fed to the two-fluid nozzle, via which branch pipe a part stream of the waste water is fed to one or more single-fluid nozzles (10, 10a) which are disposed in the annular space (11), and that the overflow (13) opens into a mixing and degassing vessel (2), into the lower section of which the waste water to be treated is introduced via an inlet pipe (15) and from the preferably conically tapering bottom of which the waste water to be treated together with degassed biomass is fed via a pump (16) and the pipe (8) to the nozzles (6, 10, 10a). <IMAGE></p> |
