SCREENING DEVICE FOR OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To prevent indistictness of a terminal and damage to a wound fiber by providing a detector between a capstan wheel and a screening roll, detecting breakage and disconnection of the fiber and stopping driving of a winding wheel. CONSTITUTION:A detector 11 for disconnection of an optical fiber is provided between a capstan wheel 3 and a screening roll 5. This detector 11 is composed of a detection roller 11a to which the optical fiber 2 is wound and a detector 12 for detecting tension of the rotating shaft for detecting breakage and disconnection of the optical fiber 2. If breakage or disconnection of the optical fiber 2 is detected, the detected, signal is fed to a controller and a drive-stopping signal is sent to a winding roll 7. A fixing means 13 is provided in a winding dancer 9 and when breakage or disconnection of the optical fiber 2 is detected, an arm 9a is fixed. An arm fixing means 13 is equipped with a pair of pushing- out cylinders 14 as a pressure member and the arm 9a is fixed by holding and pressing with a cylinder 14 in an oscillating face of the arm 9a.
