PURPOSE:To provide a method for removing nitrogen oxide in the air or exhaust gas by which nitrogen oxide is removed without using a reducing agent even at <=200 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A porous body of transition metal is used to remove nitrogen oxide at <=200 deg.C, and simultaneously, oxygen concentration and water content in gas for nitrogen oxide to be removed are adjusted so that oxygen and water may coexist with the gas in the molar ratio of >=0.5 to nitrogen monoxide and in the molar ratio of >=0.4 to the sum of nitrogen monoxide and nitrogen dioxide, respectively. Therefore, nitrogen oxide is removed without using a reducing agent, such as ammonia even at a low temp. of <=200 deg.C. |
