PURPOSE:To provide a moving image encoding system adaptive for an input moving image and with high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:This system is the moving image encoding system comprised of an in-frame mean statistic calculation part 41 which produces statistic for an in-frame(in-field) encoding image, an inter-frame mean statistic calculation part 42 which computes the statistic for an inter-frame(inter-field) encoding image accompanied with the motion compensation prediction, an in-frame/inter- frame decision part 5 which decides the ratio of those statistics, and a dead zone control part 13 which controls the setting range of a dead zone based on the ratio. |
