PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for surface treatment process without lowering of the basic performance of sealing ability or the like. CONSTITUTION:The surface treatment method is provided for forming a flocked area 8 on the inner base 5a of a main body 5 of a glass run 4 and forming a lubricant layer 11 on the surface of a lip part 6 of the glass run 4. The surface treatment method comprises an adhesive coating process, a flocking process, an adhesive hardening process and a melting process. In the adhesive coating process, an adhesive is applied to the inner base 5a of the main body part 5 and the surface of the lip part 6. In the flocking process, many piles are electrostatically planed in the areas where the adhesive is applied. In the adhesive hardening process, the adhesive is hardened. Whereupon, the flocked part 8 is formed in the inner base 5a of the main body part 5. In the melting process, a heat roller is pressed to the piles on the lip part 6. Whereupon, the piles are heat-molten to form a lubricant layer 11. |
