Plant for the production of steel by melting iron scrap, comprising an electrical furnace, means for supplying iron scrap in the form of individual charges and means for placing above the furnace a charging receptacle containing a charge of iron scrap for pouring the latter into the tank, through a bottom opening, the whole being placed in a building including at least one area for receiving and picking up iron scrap and a production area. According to the invention the means for placing the charging receptacle above the furnace consist of a specific conveying device placed permanently between the receiving area and the melting area and provided with means for carrying and controlling the movement of the charging receptacle following a determined path and at a substantially constant level between a position for taking over the iron scrap and a position for pouring it. <IMAGE> |
