Flow control system and filtration installation - having vacuum maintained on water column with atmospheric connection valves controlling overflow rate

Flow control system, by overflow, for filtration tanks used in treatment of water. A water supply column (15) terminates in a controlled depressurisation chamber (18) within which water overflows into an evacuation well (16). A vacuum system (19) in the column (15) has a water aspiration pipe (20) connected to the chamber (18) controlling the depressurisation and causing water to rise in the column (15) to produce the overflow (22) of height (h) into the well (16). The chamber (18) is connected to the atmos. via pneumatic valves (23, 24) controlled by: (a) primary continuous means of adjustment (26) of valve (23) to various positions compensating for air extracted by vacuum. (b) sec. (28) means of opening and closing the valve (24). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple low cost control of flow compatible with existing installations.
