PURPOSE:To provide the demodulator generating a soft discrimination value with high accuracy to demodulate data in an excellent way. CONSTITUTION:A symbol subjected to convolution coding is received and detected by a detection circuit 42 and the detected data are subjected to soft discrimination at soft criterion generating circuits 51, 52 and the result is subjected to Viterbi decoding by a Viterbi decoder in the data demodulator, and the demodulator uses a phase and an amplitude of a symbol in a complex plane fed to the soft discrimination value generating circuits 51, 52 to apply multi-value processing of the symbol and the data subjected to multi-value processing are fed to the Viterbi decoder by the soft discrimination value generating circuits 51,52. |
