PURPOSE:To lessen a ply steering component of the residual cornering force of a block column by setting the angle of inclination of slit of inner and outer areas divided by a main groove to the cross direction of a tire to a specified value, and inclining small slits of blocks of the inner and outer areas with a reverse slope at the same absolute value as that of the slit angle of the block column. CONSTITUTION:An inner area 9a and an outer area 9b are separated from each other, taking a main groove 5a on a line L for dividing the space between a tread center C and both ends E of a tread into two equal parts as the border. The angles of inclination to the cross direction of a tire of slits 6a, 6b of the inner and outer areas 9a, 9b are set in such a manner that the slit angle of the inner area 9a is 32 deg.-40 deg. and the slit angle of the outer area 9b is 0 deg.-40 deg., or that the slitangle of the inner area 9a is -32 deg.--40 deg. and the slit angle of the outer area 9b is 0 deg.-40 deg.. Further, small slits 8a, 8b of blocks 7 in the inner and outer areas 9a, 9b are formed with a reverse slope at the same absolute value as that of the slit angle in the each block column where each small slit exists. |
