<p>PURPOSE:To execute vaporization and removal of impurities at the time of melting iron and steel material of scrap, etc., especially impurity elements so called tramp elements such as Sn, Cu, As, Bi, Pb. CONSTITUTION:At the time of charging and melting the steel scrap into a reaction vessel 4 capable of top- and bottom-blowing gas, by using bottom- blowing nozzles 1 capable of injecting powdery material at the same time of blowing gas, one or >=2 kinds among sulfide or sulfate of alkali metal or alkali earth metal are injected from this nozzles 1 and tramp elements (Sn, Cu, As, Bi, Pb, etc.) in the molten iron are vaporized and removed. By this method, the tramp elements can be removed in shorter time and at lower cost than the conventional method without adverse affect on the operability.</p> |
