PURPOSE:To correct the surface potential of a photosensitive drum by a destaticizing lamp according to the change of transferring efficiency caused by the deterioration of toner or the change of an environment and to stabilize the quality of a formed image. CONSTITUTION:The destaticizing lamp 11 for destaticizing the surface potential before electrifying the photosensitive drum is provided. On the other hand, a process control part 13 being a destaticizing light quantity control means which adjusts the surface potential of the photosensitive drum by controlling the light quantity of the lamp 11 so that a value detected by the optical sensor 9 for the density of residual toner on the photosensitive drum after a reformed toner patch is transferred on a transfer paper becomes a residual amount reference value which is previously set after the respective parts of a copying process are controlled based on the detection of the density of the toner patch is provided.
