PURPOSE:To enable the common use of an output shaft among the differential gears of the other kind and not require the improvement of vehicles by installing a differential limit means without the interposition of the output shaft among the side gears of a bevel gear type differential mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A differential gear 7 has a bevel gear type differential mechanism 31 having a differential gear case 21 driven in rotation by the drive force of an engine, a pinion shaft 35 supported to the differential gear case 21, a pinion gear 37 supported rotatably to the pinion shaft and a pair of side gears 39, 41 meshed with the pinion gear 37 respectively at both sides in the axial direction of the pinion gear. A gear transmission mechanism 67 having a differential limit means 55 by which one side gear 41 is set to one side and a transmission gear 59 which is installed in the axial direction between the pinion shaft 35 and supported to the differential gear case rotatably and also meshed with the other side gear 65 of the differential limit means and a gear 63 in the other side gear 39 side is provided.
