<p>PURPOSE:To reduce delay by transmitting an (m)-bit parallel information signal, which is not synchronized with a transmission line signal, as an (n)-bit parallel signal by stuff synchronization. CONSTITUTION:A transmission line signal multiplexing part 13 is provided in the transmitter 2, and a transmission line signal demultiplexing part 17 is provided in the receiver 6. Then, mn/(m-n) bits of the information signal which is the least common multiple of the numbers (m) and (n) of the bits of the signal are separated by the transmission line multiplexing part 13 of the transmitter 2 into n<2>/(m-n) bits of the high-order (n)-bit part of the information signal and (n) bits of the low-order (m-n)-bit part of the information signal, and both the signals are multiplexed on a time-division basis and converted into the (n)-bit parallel transmission line signal, which is outputted. The transmission line signal demultiplexing part 17 of the receiver 6 separates the mn/(m-n) bits of the transmission line signal and restores the signal to the (m)-bit parallel information signal. Thus, the (m)-bit parallel information signal is transmitted by the stuff synchronization by using an (n)-bit parallel transmission line.</p> |
