PURPOSE:To enable recognizing map size intuitively by displaying range scale using a selected unit among plural unit range previously set in the specific region of enlargement/reduction display screen of a desired region of map data. CONSTITUTION:Map data corresponding to plural reduced scale rate is recorded in a CD-ROM 10 as digital data, this information is read out to a data reading section 11, a data processing section 12 which is an enlargement/reduction display functional section selects a desired region of map data read out, and displays this selected region on a display screen of a display device 14 with any size. Wherein, data displayed in a range scale display region in accordance with control of CPU12b is previously made in a ROM 12C of a data processing section 12. And the data processing section 12 displays range scale using a unit range selected among plural unit range previously set to this range scale region. Therefore, range scale size of reduced scale display of a map can be displayed so as not to obstruct display of a map. |
