The pistons (11), with a vertical movement on the longitudinal axis (1) of the spindle, are within openings (17) in the spindle body (2), bearing against a conical surface (8) of the rack (7) and also the segments (5). The spindle body (2) has drillings, charged by the lubricator (21), to distribute lubricant to the lubricating points. A further lubricator is at a second drilled block bonded to the end of the rack. The rack (7) is drilled to carry lubricant from the lubricator to the lubrication points. Both drilled blocks have twin dosing units. The spindle body (2) has drillings and grooves to lubricate the rack (7), with composite segments flanking the grooves for sealing. The second drilled block is a one-piece unit, or two sections bonded together. Longitudinal channels carry lubricant from the first drilled block (17) to the rack (7). The rear end of the spindle body (2) has an end face in contact with the drive shaft (3), and a leading end face with longitudinal channels for lubrication with the first drilled block (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - The spindle, liable to hot running, has an effective lubrication system, with delivery to all the lubricating points by the vibration.
