PURPOSE:To obtain technique which facilitates the rearrangement of electronic mails and enables the effective use of a mail box. CONSTITUTION:A mail server 26 is provided with a mail box control means 30. The mail box control means 30 retrieves electronic mails in the mail box 28 periodically and automatically deletes electronic mails which have expired. Electronic mails before expiration and electronic mails which are given no term of validity are put in the mail box 28 again and the mail box 28 is rearranged at proper time.
