The invention relates to a general detergent which contains - 30-50 parts by weight of a di- and/or triethanolamine salt of an RSO3H2 compound - 5-10 parts by weight of a compound with the formula RCONHC2H4(OCH2CH2)4OH - 2-5 parts by weight of an amide with the formula RC(=O)- NR1R2, and - 0-10 parts by weight of a di- and/or triethanolamine salt of an R(OCH2CH2)4OSO3H2 compound and the amount of water which is needed for adjustment to a suitable anion-active concentration and viscosity, and if necessary other additives, where R in the above formulae denotes a primary or secondary alkyl group with 6-18 carbon atoms or a mixture of alkyl groups, x denotes a whole number from about 2 to 6, R1 denotes hydrogen or a hydroxyalkyl with 1-3 carbon atoms, and R2 denotes a hydroxyalkyl with 1-3 carbon atoms.
