PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of pin holes and improve conversion efficiency, by forming two layers between two electrodes at least one of which is optically transparent, and an electron donating organic material layer and an electron accepting material layer using halogen substituted dibenzimidazolilperylene compound expressed by specified constitutional formulas are continuously formed. CONSTITUTION:Between two electrodes at least one of which is optically transparent, an organic photovoltaic element is formed by laminating at least an electron accepting organic material layer and an electron donating organic layer. In this case, halogen substituted dibenzimidazolilperylene compound expressed by formulas I, II (X1-X4 show halogen atoms of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine, k, l, m, n show integers of 1-4, and X1-X4 may be two or more kinds of different halogen atoms when the intergers are 2 or larger) is used. Thereby it can make it difficult for pin holes to be generated at the time of film formation, and stability and conversion efficiency are improved. |
