PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material with high density coloring properties and superb heat resistance by providing a thermal coloring layer containing an electron-receptive color developer of a derivative of a specific butane dioxide, and an electron-donative coloring agent on a support. CONSTITUTION:Specified amounts of a butanedioic acid derivative expressed by formula (R is an aliphatic group) and an electron-donative coloring agent are dispersed in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol as a binder to prepare a thermal coloring layer forming liquid. This liquid is applied to the surface of a support such as paper, synthetic paper, plastic sheet, and the coat is dried to form a thermal coloring layer. Thus a thermal recording material is obtained. It is possible to add a thermal sensitizer which becomes eutectic with an electron-receptive color developer to the thermal coloring layer. The recommended example of the electron-receptive color developer expressed by the formula is propylsulfone butanedioic acid, t-butylsulfone butanedioic acid. The electron-donative coloring agent is exemplified as crystal violet lactone. |
