A three phase motor (10) is provided with control signals (A1,A2,A3) from a motor control stage. The rotation position (p) and the RPM of the motor are determined by a Hall sensor (12). Two sensor signals (S1,S2) are further led to a regulating stage (13). The signals are processed using resistances and three comparators (15,20,21) and the resulting outputs are supplied to a logic stage (17), and then to the regulating stage, for determining the motor control signals. ADVANTAGE - One only Hall sensor is required compared to three sensors formerly used. Suitable for video recorder.
