The automatic opening and closing device comprises a valve (2) installed in a water pipe, and mounted in rotation w.r.t a resistant structure in the form of a frame (7) fixed on the face surfaces of the channel disposed laterally and, by the lower part of the valve, with the frame, by the introduction of a waterproof surface (8) stopping the passage of water. When the valve is turned to a horizontal position, a float (10) contributes to the rotation towards the vertical of the valve when the water does not circulate in the passage which stops the backward surge of the water downstream of the valve produced by the difference of level.
