A refuse incinerator (1) has a refuse bunker (2), a combustion system (3), a steam generator (4), a cyclone incorporating an electrical filter (15), a gas sepn. and treatment assembly (6), and an ash treatment assembly (7).The refuse bunker (2) incorporates numerous individual hoppers (24) each of which holds a specific type of pre-sorted refuse; further that the refuse contents in these specific vessels are fed to the combustion system (3) in a given sequence. The combustion system (3) has a metal-removing catalytic fist-stage (9) operating at 700-1000 deg C., followed by a dual-path second stage and twin-chamber ejector furnace (47) and a catalytic furnace (10) for temps. of 1000 to 1400 deg C. The ejector furnace (47) consists of two linked spaces (8,11); followed by a steam generator (4), a heat exchanger system (51), a gas separator and treatment assembly (6) and an ash treatment unit (7) after the special furnace (10).
