The annular beam is generated and radiated by a ring laser while a second laser emits a sharply conc. beam which is positioned and deflected within the annular beam. On account of its revolution in strong magnetic fields the pointed beam has a higher energy density than the surrounding radiation. The difference in energy densities at the boundary between the two beams gives rise to a thrust which affords sufficient power for the propulsion of a rocket. ADVANTAGE - Practical photon-induced propulsion is achievable at a tolerable level of energy consumption.
