摘要 Active carbon is relieved of its pollution load by the passage of electricity through the granules generating heat. Contact of the particles to each other and the electrodes is improved by subjecting the granules to external barometric pressure generated by the evacuation of the inner part of the desorbtion vessel. The conductivity is enhanced by external barometric pressure delivered to the particles by an elastic outer membrane. The lower electrodes are horizontal perforated plates located above and below the active carbon particles. The upper unperforated electrode plate has an elastic seal with insulated vertical mantle, such that this plate exercises external barometric pressure on the pile of active carbon particles below. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process and assembly facilitate the release of pollutants from active carbon particles. The desorbtion is conducted at low voltage, in a shortened time, and using little or no auxiliary materials.
