The pump has an intermediate housing (2) fitted between the motor housing (12) and the pump housing (12), with a projection (17) fitting into the split sleeve (7) and sealed against the latter, enclosing a radial bearing (21) for the shaft (4) of the electric motor (1). The intermediate housing has an N-shaped axial cross-section with the inner arm (18) supporting the radial bearing adjacent the pump (3), with an axial bearing (19) at the upper end of the projection. The angled arm (16) carrying a seal (20) cooperating with the inside of the split sleeve. The outer arm (15) is attached to the pump housing at the bottom end and to the motor, housing at the top end via a mounting flange (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - Split-sleeve electric pump has relatively compact intermediate housing allowing different motor and pump to be fitted together.
