The bristles (51) are set into a plastic circular disc (12) driven by a motor (11) with a bayonet coupling between the flanges (e.g. 21) of a cage formed on the disc and prongs which are spaced radially from an outer plastic sleeve (46) around the hub (26) of a centre piece (14). The latter has an annular flange (47) which can be supported on the cage and incorporates windows in which catches (111-113) on the underside of an elastic cover (114) are axially movable and retractable into openings in the flanges of the cage. ADVANTAGE - Simplified structure operates robustly and reliably but can be repaired easily by replacement of uncomplicated and inexpensive plastic component.
