A vibrator, in particular an internal vibrator for compacting concrete or the like, has an unbalanced shaft driven in a known manner by an electromotor with an inner rotor (9) which is pushed from a front side into the housing of the vibrator which can be closed by means of a housing upper part (2) and is then secured so as not to slide in the axial direction of the housing. In known vibrators of this type the electromotor is secured against rotation in the housing by press-fitting. According to the invention, the stator pack (3) can be slid with friction-fitting into the housing and secured against rotation by a special bracing element (11) made of spring steel which can be braced between the housing top part (2) and a radial supporting surface (7b) of the housing.
