Measuring filling state of pebble mill - analysing noise produced by mill using sound sensors and Fast Fourier Transform spectrum analyser and interpolation for unknown filling state.

Signals of sound sensors produced in response to the noise generated by the mill are analysed to produce a measurement value for the operating state of the mill. The measured operating state is the level in the mill. The arrangement for analysing the noise forms a spectrum of the noise and contains a Fast Fourier Transform device. It also contains a device which forms the average of the spectrum over a long period. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables throughput of mill, esp. pebble mill, to be optimised and quality of milled material to be improved.
