PROCESS FOR PREPARING IMMUNITY STIMULATING VACCINE PROPIONIBACTERIUM ACNES AO 19/83

The process for preparing the immunity stimulating vaccine propionibacterium acnes AO 19/83 consists of initial cultivation of a lyophilised production strain for a period of 5 to 6 days in an anaerostat in blood agar on a base of trypton and yeast extract at a temperature of 36 degrees C, activation and cultivation, preparation of an inoculum and cultivation in a liquid substrate containing a tissue medium. The lyophilised strain of propionibacterium acnes AO 19/83 is activated by suspension of the culture in a physiological solution to a density of 10<7> to 10<8> of micro-organisms in 1 ml and administration of a dose of 0.5 ml to adult guinea pigs in the leg muscle, which after three days are killed and the enlarged paraortal lymphatic gland is removed. The material is homogenised and inoculated in blood agar on a base of trypton and yeast extract.
