An abrasive tool comprises at least a surface layer containing abrasive particles, each abrasive particle comprising at least two abrasive grains bonded in a metal particle, at least one of the grains being diamond, the particles being held in a hardened synthetic resin. The volume ratio between the metallic phase and the abrading grains is from 0À25-5: 1. The diamond may be of size range 0À007-1À190 mm. The resin bond may be a phenol resin and fillers such as silicon carbide, and calcium oxide may be present. The metal may be nickel. |
