PURPOSE:To improve fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., required in steel cord useful as a reinforcing material for pneumatic tire used in heavy load vehicles such as trucks and buses and rubber articles such as industrial belts. CONSTITUTION:Steel cord obtained by twisting an inner sheath comprising a core prepared by making a wavy form in one stock and 5 to 6 stocks arranged around the core with an outer sheath comprising 9-12 stocks laid around the inner sheath wherein the wave length L and the wave height H in the wavy form made in the stock of the core have a range of the formula 5d<=L<=30d and 1.2<=H<=2.0d in terms of the diameter (d) of the stock of the core and the ratio p3/p2 of the twisting pitch p2 of the inner sheath and the twisting pitch p3 of the outer sheath is 1.4-2.5 to improve permeation of rubber to the stocks.
