<p>PURPOSE:To enable the detection of position and to save space even though the number of modes is increased by sticking reflecting plate on a rotating member and a sliding member and providing a light sensor detecting the pattern of the reflecting plate. CONSTITUTION:A line of reflection pattern 11 is formed on a circular reflecting plate 1. The prescribed pattern 11 represented by thin an thick lines is directly printed on the reflecting plate 1 or a sheet printed with the pattern 11 is stuck on the plate 1. A light sensor 3 is arranged to read to pattern 11. The reflecting plate is rotated by a motor through a cam 2, and the sensor 3 reads the pattern 11, detecting the rotation angle of the cam 2. Thus, the detection of position, that is, mode switching is enabled. The mechanical position corresponding to the mode can be detected so that the mode is switched to the 2nd mode position when two thin lines come in succession and to the 6th mode position when the pattern of thin line-thick line-thin line comes. Thus, the sensor can be arranged in the narrower space than detected by a brush.</p> |
