<p>PURPOSE:To improve output of an engine and achieve of favorable fuel consumption in all ranges of engine operation by maintaining the construction of an exhaust muffler in a simple form, adjusting a temperature of exhaust gas (exhaust muffler temperature) and varying propagation speed of pressure wave of the exhaust gas in the exhaust muffler in response to the operational condition of the engine. CONSTITUTION:The temperature controller of an exhaust muffler of for a vehicle is provided with a temperature adjustment means (air introduction device 37) which adjusts a temperature of an exhaust muffler 28 by means of running air at the time of driving the vehicle, an engine rotational speed sensor 42 which detects rotational speed of the engine 18 of the vehicle, an exhaust muffler temperature sensor 43 which detects the temperature of the exhaust muffler 28, and a controller 44 which operates the temperature adjustment means by data input from both the sensors 42, 43.</p> |
