A shaped absorbent structure includes a batt of absorbent material with a front region terminating in a first longitudinal end, a back region terminating in a second longitudinal end, and a crotch region. First and second sides, which each have a curved shape, extend between the first and second longitudinal ends. Regions of relatively high compression of the batt extend substantially continuously along each of the first and second sides, inboard of each of the sides, and track the curved shapes of the respective first and second sides.
