PURPOSE:To recover and exchange developer in accordance with the present recovering amount of discharged toner. CONSTITUTION:At the time of detecting the deterioration of the developer, the amount of the discharged toner in a recovering container 4 is detected so as to decide based on the detected result and a set value of the amount of the deteriorated developer previously stored in a developing tank whether or not the deteriorated developer overflows from the container 4 even when it is carried to be discharged. As the result of the decision, in the case that the deteriorated developer overflows from the container 4 when it is carried, key input on a control panel for inputting a recovery instructing signal for driving a deteriorated developer carrying means is inhibited and also a message is displayed. After an empty bottle is replaced according to the content of the message, the key input is made possible and the recovery instructing signal is outputted to $ the deteriorated developer carrying means. |
