The hydraulic ram 10 for raising the fork 4 of a pedestrian-controlled lift truck is supplied with fluid from a reservoir 12 by means of a pump 11 driven by an electric motor 13 or, alternatively, by means of a pump 19 which is driven by a reciprocating pneumatic motor 21, 28. As shown, a further pump 20, actuated by a pedal or hand lever 39, is provided. The motor 21, 28 and valve assembly 35 are actuated by a compressed air reservoir 24 which may be pressurized by a connection 22 to a compressedair line or by means of an electric motor driven pump. A solenoid valve 43 is provided to prevent actuation of the pumps 19, 20 when the motor 13 is connected by a plug 14 to a power supply. |
