<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize operation of a generator which uses a separately-excited type AC generator and to enlarge the variable range of load current. CONSTITUTION:Excitation current is supplied to a field coil winding 1 of a separately-excited type AC generator A through a rectifier 54 from a main exciter B1. Excitation current is supplied to a field coil winding 53 of the main exciter B1 through an excitation controller C from a sub exciter B2. The excitation controller C is provided with a switching circuit with a transistor Tr1, an excitation current control circuit which turns on/off a transistor Tr2 according to the output of a rectangular wave signal generation circuit 59 for controlling ON/OFF of the transistor TR1 for maintaining excitation current to be constant, and a control switching circuit 63 which maintains the transistor Tr2 to be shut off while the load current is less than a setting value and turns on or off the transistor Tr2 while the load current exceeding the setting value flows.</p> |
